There have been numerous claims that Johnny Depp has died. The latest being a social media rumor that states that the 49 year old actor drowned on-set while filming The Lone Ranger. 

Last October rumors surfaced that Depp had died by drowning on set and unlike the usual cliff-falling, freak-accidental celeb death hoaxes, this rumor wasn’t exactly pulled from thin air. A crewmember working on the Disney film with Depp died of an apparent heart attack while working inside a large water tank on the movie’s Los Angeles set and some part of the tragic news got miscommunicated, resulting in a surge of reports of Johnny’s rumored demise.

Though Depp is fine and well, it’s not the first time he’s been killed off by the Internet. In 2010 he was the (fake) victim of a car accident at 3 in the morning
