Sofia Vergara has been forced to cancel her Oscar plans, including an appearance at Madonna’s party.

The Modern Family actress is understood to be in hospital for an operation.

The nature of her condition is not yet known.

A source close to the star said: ‘Sofia is fine and there is nothing to worry about.’

Sofia was in good spirits when she was seen dining out with her fiance Nick Loeb on Friday night in West Hollywood.

The happy couple enjoyed a low-key evening at the famous BOA Steakhouse and Nick showed his chivalrous side as he collected Sofia from the back entrance.

The Colombian born beauty was dressed in a little black dress but kept warm with the help of a matching coat with fur-lined jacket.

She has also been busy filming scenes for her hit sitcom over the past few days.

Sofia has been documenting the events of filming and rehearsing with her co-stars by posting candid photos to her Twitter and Instagram photos.

After a trip to New York, Sofia was seen arriving in Los Angeles on Monday evening.
